They live in a deep sett beneath New Fancy’s shadow, storing seeds and nuts against the Realm’s forgetting. At first light they move through the understorey, gathering what endures and placing it in the earth’s hidden vaults. Their care holds the forest’s lineage where the weave grows fragile. Where clearings widen, they plant quiet promise; where the land is threatened, they restore its hush. They are ember‑eyed keepers of the western edge, guiding only those who honour the wild’s renewal.
