The Prince of the Jungle is my latest piece of tiger art! I created this beautiful painting after many requests for more pastel tutorials so here it is!
I used Anthracite pastelmat and derwent pastel pencils. As you can see there was quite a lot of work going into this portrait and I stopped at every stage noting down the pencils and method used as I went along meaning it took twice as long as I normally do (which is a very slow speed at the best of times!)
The tutorial has 41 pages of instructions including a materials list and line drawing and I’m offering it with a 25% discount to subscribers to my blog until the end of January 2017.
The tutorial now includes a conversion chart for faber castell pitts and carb’othello stabilo pastel pencils too however I’m sticking with my beloved Derwents myself!
You can purchase the tiger pastel tutorial here and don’t forget the 25% off exclusive to subscribers!
Just to get you in the mood for all things tiger-like, here are a few work in progress shots and I even have a rare White tiger painting in pastel painting on my website!
If you follow my tutorial you should end up with a pastel painting like this, if you prefer a different cat to paint you can find more tutorials here
