This is Ace. I was lucky enough to meet Ace in person at a local livery and I took plenty of photos to use as refernce. This was the image chosen by his owner's husband as a surprise birthday present.

And so work begins with this horse portrait. This was on drafting film as I love it. Underneath was black paper to enhance the whiteness of Ace's fur

Unfortunately this portrait was worked in the winter months and taking progress shots proved a little difficult. You can see by the graduated background that the light was very poor

And the bridle is now completed, it's the ears, muzzle and neck still to go!
