Yet another spaniel portrait, these are my favourite as a pet portrait artist and spaniel owner. Meet Max and Fidget, this pair live near my parents, it seems Fidget, the springer does deliveries with his owner, another working dog!!!
Fidget has shiny shiny fur on his nose, his features really caught the sun in the photo.
Max has almost blue black fur and orangey/brown eye brows and cheeks. When I first put these colours together it did look a bit odd but a few layers later and it did start to look more realistic. This stage from the one above was completed in one mammoth session. I think I was on a mission!!!
Both heads are completed, at this point the descision was how far to continue down the chest areas. I needed to balance Fidget's chest with Max's very long ears so it all looked very balanced.
