Ways to Monitor Your Pets at Home through a Web Camera

You may often feel uncomfortable when you leave your pet unsupervised for a long period of time. Since you care for her so much, there are possible ways in which you can still care for her even while you are away, and this is through utilising the Internet. With the additional help of a webcam, you would now be able to monitor your pet's welfare while you are at work.

First, connect your IP camera to an Internet connected computer using the Ethernet ports and cable. If you are unaware what an Ethernet port is, this looks like the large phone jack located at the back of the camera. If you will be using your laptop, the port is located at the side while the desktop computers have the ports at the back panel. After checking the compatibility, install and run the IP camera software on your computer and enter the camera IP address when prompted to do so. After that, you need to save your data. To check on the IP address, you can find this either in the instruction manual or on the software.

Next, place your camera in an area that will allow you to check your pet. For instance, you can position it in the playing area or the sleeping area. To keep your camera connected to the Internet at all times, use a lengthy Ethernet cable to keep it plugged into the modem or, alternatively, you can use an Ethernet adapter. Lastly, to access your camera images, type the camera IP address into your Web browser address bar from an Internet connected computer.

To sum it up, using innovative technology is one of the best ways to monitor your pet while you are away.
